How to convert HSV color values to HEX color values using the online HSV to HEX converter?
To convert an HSV color value to a HEX color value, follow these steps:
- Open the online HSV to HEX conversion tool. (link this to the HSV to HEX color converter tool)
- Enter the HSV values (Hue, Saturation, and Value) into the H, S, and V sections.
- You can also use the "color palette" to select the desired color.
- Click the "Convert to HEX" button.
- It will convert the HSV color value to a HEX color value and provide the result in HEX color format.
- Click the "Copy HEX" button.
- Paste the hexadecimal color value where needed.
- A list of commonly used colors is provided at the end — their names, HEX, RGB, HSV, and CMYK color codes are shown next to each color.
- A search tool is also provided to find a color by its name, HEX, RGB, HSV, or CMYK color code value.
What is HSV?
As we all know, the RGB color model is a well-known and popular way of mixing and creating colors. However, it can be quite difficult to mix the correct RGB color values to get the desired color. That s why artists have developed new ways to define color more intuitively and instinctively. One popular method is HSV.
However, unlike the RGB and CMYK color models, the HSV color model is closer to how humans perceive and relate to colors, and it is easier for people to understand the meaning of HSV.
HSV stands for Hue, Saturation, and Value. Furthermore, it is an alternative representation of the RGB color model.
Alvy Ray Smith created this color model in 1978.
Hue: Hue is represented by a circle with vertical axes. All six colors, representing the color hexagon, are divided into 60 degrees.
In other words, it is the color part of the model that each of the six colors in the color hexagon occupies, and is expressed from 0 to 360 degrees.
Saturation: Saturation refers to the purity of the hue. It also represents intensity and chroma. It refers to the dominance of the hue in the color circle. It ranges from 0 to 100 percent.
Value: Value represents the brightness of the color. It represents lightness or darkness. It is the overall intensity of light. It ranges from 0 to 100 percent (from black to white). A value of 0 means full black (depending on saturation); the further you move away from 0, the more brightness is added to the color, displaying different colors.
What are the six main colors in the HSV color model?
The six primary colors are: red, yellow, green, cyan, blue, and magenta. Each color is expressed in the range of 0 to 360 degrees where it falls.
- Red falls from 0 to 60 degrees in the color hexagon.
- Yellow falls from 60 to 120 degrees in the color hexagon.
- Green falls from 120 to 180 degrees in the color hexagon.
- Cyan falls from 180 to 240 degrees in the color hexagon.
- Blue falls from 240 to 300 degrees in the color hexagon.
- Magenta falls from 300 to 360 degrees in the color hexagon.
What is the benefit of HSV?
HSV is an alternative representation of the RGB color model and is used in graphics and painting. HSV can also be called HSB (Hue, Saturation, and Brightness). Many illustration and photo editing programs use the HSV color model in their software because HSV represents color in a way that is more understandable to people, as they relate to color better than RGB. People find it easier to read HSV values than RGB.
What is HEX color?
HEX color is a hexadecimal (letters, numbers, or a combination of both) representation of color based on its mix of red, green, and blue.
HEX color codes start with a hash symbol (#), followed by six letters or numbers. These six letters/numbers represent the mix of red, green, and blue. The first two letters/numbers represent the red color, the second two represent green, and the last two represent blue.
The hexadecimal code is used to define colors on web pages. These hexadecimal color codes are HTML color codes.
HSV vs HEX
It is very important to know the difference between different color modes because they help plan and optimize the design process.
The HSV color model is used to create high-quality graphics. Various graphics editing software uses this color approach in their software.
On the other hand, the HEX color model is used on web pages. HEX colors are web-safe colors. Therefore, regardless of which browser or device you use, the color will display the same in all browsers and devices.
